Tobago International Academy started classes with 10 students and two teachers on March 6, 2017. Not being able to find an educational institution in Tobago that offered the type of learning experience they wanted, a handful of parents and teachers decided to create it themselves.
Sure, adding to story is the surprising abandonment of the original young students after their previous school abruptly closed. But let’s not dwell on that. Out of bad things, good things happen.
In the first 10 months of operation, Tobago International Academy tripled its population, added a teacher, enhanced its school building, earned one international essay finalist, selected as a LEAF International participant and made a mark on the local education scene.
Our story is just beginning.
